Who We Are
A little about myself
My name is Alyssa McQuillan. I graduated from Menomonie High School in 2014 and went on to school for Social Work. In 2019, I graduated from University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with my BSW and a minor in Spanish. In 2016, I studied abroad in Spain. This was an experience of a life time. I was able to travel and learn about different customs and cultures.
I started working in childcare in 2016 at Altoona Family Child Care Center. I thought to myself "This is the best job ever - you get to play with kids all day." Instead of changing my major for the fifth time, I stuck with Social Work because it is such a broad area. The last two summers, I was a camp counselor at Camp Firefly. Being able to work and play with kids sunrise to sunset was an incredible experience. After graduation, I stayed with Altoona Family Child Care Center and I became the director of the center in November 2019.
I couldn't have gotten to where I am today without the help of my family and friends. My number one inspiration has always been my grandma, Mary. The love and dedication she showed in her every day life is something I strive to have in my work and home life.
